Dear bloggers at FMO,

I have been following your blog and wonder whether Survival's satirical cartoon booklet might be of interest? We've been using it extensively to simply communicate what is wrong with imposing external notions of development on indigenous communities. We've had some strongly positive feedback - Mary Robinson, for example, said: '"Oren Ginzburg's little book contains the big message that we must avoid the arrogance of presuming to know what's best for those whose voices are not heard in global debates. It reminds us of our shared responsibility to see to it that all people are active participants in shaping the decisions that impact their lives. Only then can we hope to see real development.'"

Another Survival publication is called 'Progress Can Kill' describing how imposed development destroys the health of tribal peoples' - a considerably more somber approach to the same issue, drawing on case studies from around the world.

Our links to the publications are: http://www.survivalinternational.org/thereyougo and http://www.survivalinternational.org/progresscankill

I'd also be happy to send you a complimentary copy of There You Go! by post.

Your assistance with conveying this all important message would be greatly appreciated.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Kind Regards,
Katrin
